Job Summary
As a bartender at Kitchai Thai, you will be the star of our bar, mixing up delicious Thai and Asian-inspired cocktails that surprise and delight our guests. You’ll be responsible for curating a cocktail experience that pairs perfectly with our menu, all while maintaining a high-energy, welcoming environment. We’re looking for a mid-level bartender who loves to experiment with flavors, is eager to share their creativity, and has an appreciation for Thai ingredients and culture.

Location: Kitchai Thai Restaurant, Edmondson Park, NSW
Job Type: Casual/Part-time/Full-time (Flexibility for the right candidate)
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate + tips
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft Signature Cocktails: Create, mix, and serve specialty Thai and Asian-inspired cocktails with precision and flair.
- Maintain Bar Standards: Ensure the bar is stocked, clean, and organised, with all equipment functioning properly.
- Customer Service: Engage with guests, make recommendations, and provide a warm, inviting experience at the bar.
- Knowledge Sharing: Stay up-to-date with cocktail trends and educate guests about unique flavour combinations, as well as Kitchai’s signature drinks.
- Inventory Management: Track stock levels and work with the bar manager to order supplies as needed.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local alcohol laws and maintain responsible service standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the kitchen staff to understand the menu and recommend drink pairings that enhance our guests’ dining experience.
- Creativity and Innovation: Regularly brainstorm and experiment with new cocktail recipes using traditional Thai ingredients like lemongrass, kaffir lime, and galangal.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 2+ years of bartending experience, preferably in a high-volume, cocktail-driven environment.
- Passion for Mixology: A genuine love for crafting cocktails and a keen interest in Thai or Asian flavours and ingredients.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring and mixing drinks, with a focus on consistent quality.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage with guests, make them feel at home, and communicate effectively with team members.
- Team Player: A positive attitude and willingness to assist fellow team members during busy shifts.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure with a smile.
- Knowledge of Alcohol Laws: RSA certificate or willingness to obtain one.
